allo again,

I am wondering if there has been any movement where GPS hold is concerned.

Apparently it is not active at the moment - certainly mine doesn't work, and others have said the same problems on the forum.

Yet i have watched youtube vids where people are using it with Arducopter.

Could someone please advise or direct me to where i need to go to get GPS hold happening.

look into NG code if you want to use it, or wait until RC2 is published ;)
