A couple weeks ago I unplugged my power module cable and it took the part of the socket off the APM with it just leaving the bare pins sticking up off the board.  I carefully reinstalled it and put about half a drop of superglue on each end of it to the PCB.  Then this afternoon I unplugged my 3DR radio and it took the telem connector with it, has anyone else had this happen?

Yep same here - got a shock when I tried to remove the power connector and the whole housing came with.. :o I do indeed pull out the connected as per the data sheet's instructions (not at an angle), but pressing the board down firmly between my feet and yanking the cable while putting my back into it.

These connectors are designed to lock in place, so they don't fall out. Instructions on the best way to remove them are in this datasheet (at the end).

  • Jeff, Yes I also had the connector body come off of the board on my APM 2.5.

It was also the power module connector.

I will be very careful when removing these connectors in the future.
