Having trouble connecting APM 2.6 to AR8000

Hey,

I am building my first 3DR Quadcopter and i am having trouble calibrating DX8 to APM 2.6. I have followed the "connecting the RC inputs" guide on APMcopter on how to wire the RC Receiver to APM and had no luck calibrating the radio in mission planner. I am obviously doing something wrong, any help would be appreciated!

    Ive pulled my AR8000 out of my copter, but from what i can see your signal pins on the RX should be on the bottom pins, that is those furthest from the "top" of the RX. The middle=+ve, the top closest to the label with the channel names is GND.

    I hope i didnt fiddle with the cables still on it.
