Hi everyone,I have a project to make a fully autonomous drone that can drop a payload of water over a target, I have an APM 2.6 with GPS/Compass and Telemetry. Due to the nature of the project I cannot use a radio reciever which is why I have the problem I do.Basically I need a way to supply 5V to a small on-board solenoid which is the release method for the water payload. I'm new to this but I believe the normal way to go about this is to use a radio reciever, but since I cannot use one am in correct in saying that it would have to be software controlled? On the mission planner software it would be perfect if I could set a waypoint and once the quad gets there to do an 'action' - this action would be to power the solenoid which in turn would release the water.I am completely new to this and honestly have no idea where to start, I can do basic coding but am unfamiliar with this software. Please help! Thanks very much in advance everyone.

Hi Alan, I'll be using the telemetry kit and a joystick to arm the motors - I've had them spinning and adjusting themselves when in the 'Stabilise' mode thus far. Thanks

I would see if you can rig up the camera trigger function to release the payload. Tell it to take a picture at a certain spot and it should work.
So if no receiver, how do you intend to arm it before takeoff?
