Help with APM mission planning.

I have successfully uploaded the AC2 to my board. The issue is that when I get to the first set up in the mission planning screen and it asks  to erase the EEPROM I cannot enter "Y" and the first set up stays hanging and shows Not responding. After that I have to quit the mission planning and I cannot do anything else. Has anybody here experience the same issue? Also when I connect the battery and then USB the motors starts spinning till I disconnect the battery.  I'm running window XP pack3.

    I switched to CLI and GPS is connected too. In the black screen to erase the EEPROM I press "Y" key and nothing happen. I cannot type the letter Y or any other letter. I cannot pass beyond this point.

    I just used it the other day and it went fine. Do mind your CLI switch position. Also, if you have a GPS, please plug it in so you can get past the GPS detection script which will take around 30 seconds if it cannot find a GPS. It will work without GPS, you just have to be patient.
