How you doing all,, As you can see I have a Parrot Drone 2.0 which im able to control through an app on a tablet/phone. But see thats the limit it connects via wifi which is an extremely limited range ( sucks for UAV-ing an area ) You feel me. What I want to do is:
First: Using a phone/tablet as a control SUCKS, thats like locking a pigeon in a cage. I want to ditch the wifi control and start using a proper Remote Control to control it with a range of a mile, how can that be done ?
Right after that I sure want to start using Mission Planner and fire up the Autonomous rush so I would need the AMP for that, ( its on the way ) the million dollar question is HOW to hook it up to my quadcopter ?
Appreciate all your comments im here to pick the brains of the " drone dons" if you will.

I'm in the same "boat" as you are, Ali.
I bought two Parrot AR Drone 2.0's. The WiFi radio interface of the
AR Drone 2.0 is just too dam flaky for reliable, safe flying and aerial
photography work: limited range, intermittent loss of signal, etc.
I'm in the process of graduating (or transitioning) from the Parrot to
the DJI Phantom as soon as I can identify an FPV downlink solution
for the GoPro that falls withing the payload capacity of the Phantom.
I will continue to "play-with" and test the AR Drone because I have
already made the investment, and because I am infatuated with the idea
of one day...hopefully...of being able use a tablet to fly my quad, AND
have HD-FPV capability, using 4G-LTE, instead of WiFi.
The full-blown DIY drone approach is WAY too complicated for me.
With apologies to my fellow DIY "forumers," there no need to burden
yourself with the pure, DIY approach unless you really want to. I joined
this forum so I could connect with smart people; not to build from scratch.
To quote Monty Python, DIY "makes my brain hurt." So, lets call the
AR Drone "an expensive learning experience" and start your research
into hobby-grade or pro-sumer-grade almost-RTFquadicopter, spend
the extra money, because it's worth it, and move on.

If i would want to make a multi copter UAV for my use. Can someone tell me a good website to buy copters from,, after that i would start ordering the parts and moding it to make it a uav. My question is whats a good structure multi copter to buy to add all that to it. Appreciate your help.
Ali - The question, "multi-copter or a plane" is best answered by you. Your "needs" will dictate which style (heli / quad vs fixed wing) best fits what you want to achieve.

Building a "proper drone". How do you suggest that ? buying a multi-copter or a plane and why ?
There are loads of information out there for the AR.Drone. Most leave the build in boards (has cam, optical float sensor and Sonar build in), just connect it to a Arduino Board and fly with a Wifi Extender or modify to 3DR Radio.
So my suggestion: Build a proper drone and don't try to convert a toy. :)
