I own a Titan Tornado II experimental airplane. I have been very impressed by the great work across the whole DIYDrones community. Someday, I'd like to use the hardware and software as an autopilot for my plane. But I'd like to start out with something simpler: a heads-up display on a 7 inch Android tablet showing all of the fantastic telemetry that the hardware provides. I plan to install the hardware in my plane and velcro the tablet to my dashboard. I've seen what the windows laptop ground station can display. Wind direction / speed, climb / descent speed, air / ground speed, direction, etc.

I would prefer to connect hardware to tablet via USB. Second choice is wifi. Third is bluetooth. Suggestions, directions appreciated.

  • Sounds interesting, for android you might wana look in to the "Andropilot", this will work as a groundstation.

find it on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.geeksville.androp...

It lets you have some of the same features as the windows version.

As to mounting, velcro might be fine for the the first tests, but 4 small holes to mount it, and you ensure the same angle everytime and allways. :)

When the time comes how are you going to have the AMP control the control surfaces while still maintaining the ability to do "a manual overrride"?
