Hello,  I have a project which requires a gas tank sensor to talk to the APM 2.8   The gas tank sensor is the typical 0-190Ω variety like this:

one: https://www.amazon.com/Sending-Waterproof-Adjustable-0-190ohm-240-33ohm/dp/B09CYNP7KW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2K4S4SEN21PN6&keywords=0-190+ohm+fuel+sensor&qid=1647602843&sprefix=0-190+ohm+fuel+sensor%2Caps%2C276&sr=8-1

I know Foxtech has a solution that is almost US$200.  Just wondering if there is a cheaper easier way do it.  I can convert the Ohms output to 0-5V, and change the code on the APM accordingly.  Just wondering if somebody has done this already

Thank you!

  • I want to know how to connect a 0-190Ω gas tank sensor to the APM 2.8 controller and I am glad I found your post where I found my answer. I am also very happy because when I was searching for it online, I also found https://www.topessaywriting.org/samples/composers website where I can read essay samples and the good thing is I don't have to pay anything to read them.

  • Thanks Ben, We would like to change "Battery Voltage" to "Fuel Level".
  • I would use a voltage divider to convert the resistance in voltage, connect it to an analog input of the APM. Then you can read the value directly in Mission Planner by using the power monitor feature : https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-power-module-configuration... Normally it's used to monitor battery voltage, but it can monitor any voltage on any analog input pin. Maybe it's even possible to translate the value to percentage, and have a warning if below a given threshold.
