Hi everybody,

I'm planning on attaching a camera onto my quadcopter. It is powered by 2 AA batteries, and it weights much less without them.

So how can I get voltage & current equivalent from APM2.5?

  • 3.3v regulator is most common. You could use that with a diode to drop the 0.3v
  • Incorrect! A voltage divider only works with a constant load resistance, which your camera is not. You need a 3v regulator.

What you need is a voltage divider. Though I wouldn't try to take power directly from the APM, I would splice a voltage divider on the main power connection before power reaches the APM. Check out the following page to learn about constructing a voltage divider. Remember to keep in mind your current requirements as well as what you expect the min/max voltages at the source to be, then design the circuit to meet those parameters.
