Ive been trying to loiter my quadcopter which is a standard 2.5 apm 3drobotics kit with ublox gps.
But when I switch to loiter the quadcopter start to hover in a circle with a wide radius. It maintains the altitude and does a pretty accurate circle but I would like it to keep a fix position when in loiter. How do I achieve this.

That's usually due to magnetic interference. Either move your APM 2.5 as high as possible on your frame (add a platform if necessary) or switch to the external GPS+mag and mount that even higher. Every cm of distance you can get above sources of magnetic interference such as the PDB, batteries or motors will make a big difference.
