IMU Gyro Problem.

Hi everyone,In flight when I switch to flight mode FBW-A or stabilize mode the plane reacts very erratic banking left to right. Or it locks into a spiralling downward turn. When I first switch on and test on the ground in FBW-A or stabilize mode all servos react to me tilting the plane in the correct manner. But if I walk around with plane after first setup, for about 5 meters, then switch to FBW-A or stabilize mode all the servos move hard one way and then slowly creep to opposite direction and back and forth. It seems like when I get the accelerometers going it upsets everything. If just keep the plane in one position after first setup and roll and pitch etc everything operates ok in to FBW-A or stabilize mode. I have also used the APM planner / flight data / raw sensor view/ page to see what is happening when in FBW-A or stabilize and all the dials except altitude move around in circles when the plane is held still. And some times they eventually come back to there proper position. Some pointers would be great thanks.My setupWindows XP proAirframe AXN floater (test airframe for APM)Turnigy 9x, Set PWM for flight modes 1165, 1295, 1425, 1555, 1685, and 1815Ardupilot mega kit, Atmega 2560, MediaTek MT3329 GPS (solderd myself)Using APM planner 1.0.9Ardupilot software 2.2I have not adjusted any of the PID settingsI have resoldered joints making good all connections. Also gone through complete setup countless times. Have even setup with alternate PC with no change. In APM planner/terminal/tests, all looks ok for IMU and Gyro test (no errors). A member in the wiki thought it sounds like a hardware issue.Thanks for your time Karl.

  • I am having the EXACT same problem. The funny thing is, is that I had a successful flight (I was able to use stabilize mode), then I uploaded some way points to try out the autopilot function when the aforementioned began. Now I can't even get it to run in stabilize mode again.

    Sounds like a hardware problem. Please contact customer support at the store you bought it from to get a RMA.
