Indoor flying

Hi EveryoneWhat is the best way to hover indoors at a constant height.(Let's say about 5 feet). I have a Sonar (LV-MaxSonar-EZ0).I am afraid of crashing into the floor or ceiling, while i learn to fly(It is way too windy outside).Pls correct me if i am wrong, but the alt-hold mode does not cater to this.I am prepared to alter the source code if necessary and make another mode, so some advice would be appreciated.ThanksSrinath

  • Sonar alt-hold is an excellent way to learn to fly - but only for the very early stage of getting used to controls orientation etc, it basically removes the throttle from the equation so you can concentrate on roll pitch and yaw. Typically it will hold within 10cm, but you'd want a pretty big indoor anyway (like bigger than a 2 car garage)
