IRIS+ , LED INDICATOR SOLID RED

my pixhawk led indicator is showing solid red on power up and also repeating a tone that ive never heard before.I flew it, landed safely and waited couple mins then put in a new battery and now that happens???

Well, i fixed it by reseating the sd card in the pixhawk.... Why was this even needed to be done?

What would happen if the error happened during flight?
