Hello, firstly sorry if this question has been answered but I tried searching and didn't find an answer.

My question; is the PX4FMU (Flight Management Unit)   the bare basics I need for autpilot.

I read I also need PX4IO (Input/Output module)

This would be used initially on fixed wing ( bixler ).

Basically need clarification on two things.

1. Can the FMU control motor and servos ( I am 95% sure it can but the doco said something about needing the IO module for fixed wing)

2. Can the main FMU take care of PPM/radio signal ( I think no ?) , but could I get away with some real basic radio control on the main board to get me started.

p.s also I don't see a px4 category

  • If anyone cares:

Yes the FMU will be ok on its own.

it can take PPM signal no problem, but no failsafe and can control servos ok.
