LiPO Charger Question

Hello all,

 

I'm new to electric motors and I've read lots of horror stories about charging LiPO's, so excuse the noob question.

 

I just received my ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 30C LiPO and IMAX B6-AC charger for my quad but none of the connectors that came with the charger plug into the XT60 connector on the battery. I bought some spare XT60 Male/Female connectors, am I supposed to just cut one of the connectors off that came with the charger and solder on one of my spares? or did I screw up and cannot charge this battery with this charger?

    The charger will be fine with your battery. Just change the connector.

    Some people prefer the XT60, others the Deans (two rectangular terminals at right angles to each other). So change either on your charger lead, or on your battery to make them compatible. Be careful if you decide to change the connector on the battery - very easy to create a short circuit and that can get dangerous.
