As a comment, I'd say it is much easier to go manual, and then go back to loiter.
I think the one in mission planner, is the waypoint radius, which is different (2m normally).
I hadn't found the 'loiter radius' on a quick look.
Setting the position too low, might lead to problems. I don't know how the copter would respond, if (for instance) the setting is at 1m, and the GPS is persistently drifting by a couple of metres?. If it was adjustable, I have been meaning to experiment with turning it massively _up_, and seeing if it affects the 'I'm going to shoot off' behaviour currently common with the Mediatek GPS....

You have to go more than 5m, or just switch off loiter, move, and switch it back on.
I'd guess the 5m, might be adjustable (haven't looked).
