I was fortunate enough to be invited along to the STMicroelectronics technology roadshow (Singapore, Bangkok, Penang, Kuala Lumpur) for MEMS and micros. The first day (yesterday) went very well with over 100 people in attendance. As a guest speaker I was talking / demonstrating my company products including the BL-3GRC for RC airplane / multi-copter stabilization, also the soon to be available,10 axis auto pilot MEMs sensor fusion solution. High tech, low price hits the RC aircraft market! (you might like to check out the products at bluelight-tech.com). ST have an incredible 50% market share in MEMS as you can see here:http://www.st.com/internet/com/press_release/t3293.jsp

  • ST has been quite the market leader in many respects.  Comparable 2 chip, 9DOF solution and the first to have a real DMP solution with iNemo.

I just don't get why they're lagging behind in penetrating the drone market?  They're a top notch company with good senors, and a leader in the DMP and processor fields.

Tell them to put out a STM32 based autopilot dev board with their 9DOF sensors onboard.  The P4X is almost there, but they're just hanging onto the Invensense chip for some reason.
