Mag offsets

I need some help to understand how mag offset works, I read somewhere it's calculated while flying but I couldn't find about it on the wiki.

Is it calculated in every flight or only after eeprom erase?

Is there a way to erase offsets to autocalibrate again without erasing the whole eeprom?

    using APM Planner Terminal in CLI mode, go to setup, and type compass off, then compass on, this will zero your offsets. you can perform manual offsets in cli; or better yet, go back to fly mode and let it auto-calibrate... it takes about 7 minuates of moving the quad around in the different axis to re-calibrate...(or go flying)
