Magnetometer Tutorial + Library

Hey Guys,

 

  I've written a tutorial on my website about how to interface with a 3 axis magnetometer (HMC5883L) and how to use it to calculate a bearing, and compensate for magnetic declination.

 

  It should be useful to you guys on DIYDrones, as it is part of a series that will build up to creating an IMU from scratch.

 

   There is also an Arduino Library for the HMC5883L available for free download.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge you made it very easy to understand which proves you are a great teacher. If you have more tutorials in line I will definitely look forward to that.

    Cool--thanks for sharing. We already have our own Arduino mag library that does all that with the HMC5883L, including examples; it might be interesting to compare approaches.
