I want to simply tilt my camera platform with one of the "pots" on the 9xr.  and I bought a gimbal motor (Ipower 2208) to do this and I want to avoid having to mess with a gimbal set up.  I could have just mounted it on a servo but I really like the Gimbal motor platform (shape) for this use.

Can someone advise if I can connect this I-Power 2208 directly to a receiver, or does this need a ESC like "regular" motors.   If so, then I wonder how to get it to tilt - only - 90 degrees back and forth.

Just need a little help.

Thanks.

  • disregard.   Honestly, I am surprised after about 2 weeks no one offered any help.   I got help really fast on RCG.  I don't mean to offend anyone, just stating the results

The answer is "no".    You have to have a controller to operate a gimbal motor; you cannot operate it directly from a receiver or a pin on the APM like A10 or A11 like you can with a servor..
