MediaTek GPS Question

Hi, i am woundering if i can use the 3DR MediaTek v2.0 GPS unit with my APM 2.5 with 3.01. I have tried it and it just flies away and it always had, hence the reason i threw it in the draw.

Is there a firmware flash or something to fix this GPS unit and get it going? Its the only one ive got

    i cant seem to find a MediaTek software like the the uBlox one?

    Thanks mate. Did this fix the issue with you?

    Also how in earth do i flash the mediatek ive only flashed uBlox

    Hi Dean,

    I believe that the early versions of the MediaTek V2.0 were delivered with firmware v1.6, but firmware v1.9 came out later and was supposed to be an improvement. I tried both versions on the only MediaTek V2.0 that I have and still found its position knowledge inferior to the uBlox LEA-6.
