I have not flown it yet as I am up against a problem with it. It seems to work fine with a couple of issues.
One the standard ESC calibration doesn't seem to work. Throttle up, plug in. Unplug plug in and throttle down.
listen for the beeps of course. This is the norm for APM's and how the ESC's where calibrated in the past.
With the mini no go. So I did each one manually.
The problem I am having is that the motors all start at the same time, but sometimes if I throttle down one or two motors will stop and not start again till I thottle down all the way and then rev up quickly.
In my mind this is a calibration issue, but these esc's where calibrated with the same RX and motors before so it should not be a problem What I am starting to wonder is if there is a compatibility issue between the ESC and the APM.
I've seen what appear to be smaller quads at "General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception Lab, University of Pennsylvania" featured on Nova, but I haven't seen details on what they're using.
The X4 can only fly for about 7min according to the Hubsan website.

I have it fitted to my mini 250 and it rocks.

As I learn more I will let you know.
I think it's a good question. I wonder what the defacto hardware is for swarm experiments?
