Minor feature requests...

APM Planner is great, however there are a couple really minor things that I think would greatly improve the experience and overall efficiency of it:

- Flight Planner view: Refrain from changing the altitude to the default altitude everytime a waypoint is clicked on/moved. This has bitten me several times, I would spend 30 mins laying out an elaborate flight plan with carefully calculated altitudes, then realize I need to move a few waypoints by just a few meters, and it resets all their altitudes to the default. So if I had a landing pattern of: 25m, 15m, 10m, 5m, then decided to move these waypoints just a few meters to better align them, they would all change to the default of 100m. :(

- Tuning Graph: Allow the tuning graph to be broken out into its own window and re-sizable so you can see the planes path at the same time as the graph. I think this would be *really* useful so its easier to match the graph with real-world behavior. Right now it seems to be one or the other.

- Tuning Graph: Add option for logarithmic scales. I would like to plot the throttle output at the same time as airspeed, but a throttle output of 1500-2000 buries the airspeed ranges of 10-20, so its impossible to chart these together with any usefulness.

- Tuning Graph: Increase the chart limit from 5 items to 10 or more.

- Tuning Graph: Save last used items on the tuning chart, so they are loaded each time instead of just the defaults. Even better would be to be to save custom chart settings to a file so they can be easily switched between them. (Roll/Pitch/Yaw, Throttle/Airspeed, Inputs/Outputs, etc...)

- Add button to take screenshots directly into a screenshot directory. Some laptops don't have PrtScr buttons or require some magic key combination to replicate which is difficult when in the field, so having a quick button to click on (with a separate keyboard shortcut as well) in APM Planner to do this would be nice especially for reporting bugs or behavior to these forums.

- Save the Baud Rate for each com port, so when switching between com ports APM Planner defaults to these saved (last used) baud rates. This would be really nice for switching between XBee and direct USB connection to the APM. (57600, 115200)

all of these i have addressed, in some manner
    try control-s for screenshot

  • Great list! I never thought about how to improve all those scenarios but now that you have brought them up it would add a tremendous amount of polish and efficiency to a great program.

i will have a look at most of these.
