Mission Planner Survey Function - Hardware for camera connection to APM2.5 - Discussions

Does anybody know the correct way to use a Sony Nex 5 with Mission Planner for doing surveys.

I know in the latest MP, you can set your camera as Sony nex 5, but im not sure which of the 3 triggering actions to use and what hardware to use to connect APM2.5 to the Sony nex.

I was thinking about using an IR switch like this one http://www.goodluckbuy.com/rc-shutter-switch-cable-for-sony-nex-series-5n-5r-nex-7-photo-and-video-1.html.

Then do I just connect the cable to the APM2.5 aux?

How do I then tell mission planner to trigger the camera through that aux port, or is there a specific aux port I should use?

Hi, Were you able to get the IR trigger and camera working?

If so, how did you do it?

  Just plug the IR trigger into a servo output. Set Cam_Trigg_type to servo.
  You can then use do_set_servo or cam_trig_dist to automate your triggering.
  To test, just right click on the map from the flight data page and click trigger camera now.
