Hi allI have an old 6 channel sanwa 35mhz transmitter and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is at all possible to modify it to add more channels, take it from 6 to 8etc......Im looking to buy a new handset anyway either a multiplex or graupner but I would like to try and modify my old one just to see if it works. Thanks in advance
You need to be a member of diydrones to add comments!
I know its possible to buy a PCTx and use a laptop to output to a trainer port, and get up to nine channels that way. The problem there is that you are now anchored to a computer AND your controller, so its not the most ergonomic setup. Of course you can also then use a flight stick or whatever else you can get to work with it.
I have a question about modding though. Can I mod the gear switch on my 6 channel rig to be 3 position instead of 2, or better yet, install a pot or stick??
Ryan,
No or not straight atleast that is worth the effort and money IMHO. I guess the effort could be well spent on UAV AP related research/building. Lot of us use futaba, JR, Spectum radios. In most cases 6 channel is enough to start with. So doing mod to convert 6Ch to 8 Ch is not a must for UAV work. Good luck any way, Cheers
