MOT_SPIN_ARMED issue

I have an issue with 3.1 and MOT_SPIN_ARMED.

I'm seeing 1 or 2 motors turn off a few seconds after arming and the motors are idling.

If i throttle up those motors don't spin at all but the other ones all spin up so of course if i try to take off that would be a big problem !

If i apply throttle quickly after arming then they all spin up and keep going no problem but if i let the motors idle again using there's a 50/50 chance 1 or two motors will again stop and only way to start them again is to disarm then arm again. This seems to reset the problem.

Now i have disabled MOT_SPIN_ARMED and after i arm and throttle up all is good so there's definitely a gremlin with this.

Anyone else see this ?

Hex with 30A Multistar esc's.

3 Cell 5000mAH LiPo

APM2.6 from 3DR

APM Power module

MOT_SPIN_ARMED was set to 130. For me using 3 cell LiPo and 700KV motors means i needed 130 to get the motors to spin at all.

THR_MIN is 100.

thanks

  • Hi my friends

I'm beginner to APM and I have a problem with MOT_SPIN_ARMED.

How can I spin my motors when APM is arm? default value of MOT_SPIN_ARMED is 70 and it's not spinning!!

What is the relation between MOT_SPIN_ARMED and THR_MIN?

    Please help me.

    thanks everyone

  • Hey Harald thanks.

Hard to imagine we are the only ones with this issue.

Did you enable then disable MOT_SPIN_ARMED ?

Exactly when did you see this issue and how did you overcome  ?

Once again if i disable the MOT_SPIN_ARMED i have no problem.

    Randy help ;)

  • Hello

unfortunately, I can't really help, but confirm this issue.

However I am not really sure if this is related to MOT_SPIN_ARMED.

I am using Multistar 20A Opto ESCs and often notice that some of the motors don't start spinning if I raise the throttle slowly. They do spin if I reduce throttle and raise more quickly and I get a stable flight afterwards.

Edit: I am using the the original firmware - no SimonK.

    Kind regards

    Harald
