Can it be too much vibration on the APM ? - should I mount it "better" ?

removed rubber dampers and installed the APM using 2 layers of velcro - problem almost solved.
these are the default motors with 3DR frame, are they more faulty than average ?
I already replaced al ESC's and sometimes, pitch axis does the same, but less than roll axis.
Any idea how I can test a motor to find bad connection, when it seems to work fine 90% of the time, and starts & idles fine ?
Maybe it's a failing motor in that axis?
