Mission Planner auto-updated to v 1.3 and I see a number of changes:
In flight data view, I don't see the gauges or status tabs, and the actions tab now only has 3 buttons.
It's the same whether I am unconnected, connected via USB or connected via radio.
Is this supposed to be, or a bug?

in the planner settings. tick "advanced"
for new users the interface has been made simple.
So I'm not sure I understand....
Are the gauges or gauge view gone?
Because when ticking "advanced view" in planner all that happens is the "simulation" and "terminal tabs are removed.
Am I missing something, can we bring back the gauges?
@Barrie
Yes, for me, when I check the "advanced view" the simulation and terminal tabs appear in the top ribbon, and also, in Flight Data view there are more tabs in the window beneath the PFD/HUD (which is what prompted my question, I was wanting to use the Status tab for something.)
Whether or not the box is checked there is no longer a Gauges tab below the PFD/HUD, which used to have four "steam gauges". No biggie, I can use the PFD/HUD tapes or "Quick" tab, I'm just an old school regular plane pilot and I liked them.
Thanks, I found it shortly afterward. I guess the "steam gauges" went to make room for other tabs? I liked 'em as an old school pilot, but I guess they were kind of useless for a drone!
