So I've been following the quick start guide - I've connected one ESC with +, - and S while the 3 others only have S. The input rail is connected to my RX AR8000. When I power it by USB, all the channels seem to work fine and I have calibrated the radio. The APM Planner is showing disarmed but I guess that's because the ESCs aren't powered.

When I disconnect USB and connect the battery, the RX and TX link up and the motors spin up. Moving the sticks on the DX8 doesn't change the motorspeed at all. The ESCs are showing a solid green. If I power the quad with throttle to the max, the ESCs blinks green and doesn't spin the motors but I guess that's a safety measure.

Neither manual nor automatic calibration works (I guess since all motors are running on max no matter what).

The quad is an X650 V4.

Any idea why this happens?

  • My problem was that I was using the Xaircraft X650 V4 and the ESCs it comes with. Those ESCs uses pulses from 0-1000us while virtually all the others use 1000-2000us as well as the APM2 so I ended up buying new ESCs which was in the correct range and that solved it for me.

  • 3D Robotics
    What ESCa are you using?
  • I am having the exact same problem and am stumped, so if you have figured out a solution or if anyone with more experience has some input I would really appreciate it! Thanks

  • have you done either of the esc calibration procedures.
