Need Help with Connecting to MiniOSD

So I had 3DR put on a MiniOSD on the X8 that i just got and it works. But the problem that i am having is I can't connect to the OSD with the Config program it keeps saying Failed to load bootloader I want to customize the display and I can't do it!  

Please help!

    are you using an ftdi cable?
