Need some help setting up my APM 2.5 and Zephyr 2

Hi guys

Im having some trouble setting up my Zeph and APM ive tried other peoples param files but having no joy, my first problem was i had crazy elevon throws in stab/auto modes ive had a fiddle around in the pids and think ive got it about right just need to do some flights to fine tune.

Im now having big trouble with flight modes i presume ,what happens when i first plug in the lipo for the start up and my TX is set to manual mode the APM seems to put it into another flight mode of which i have no control at first the throttle was coming on full and i couldnt stop it now i seem to have fixed the throttle start up once the board has started in manual mode , so at the moment i start up in manual and it gos into a auto mode but if i switch into stab/loiter mode and then back to manual mode i get manual mode no trouble but i dont want to fly in case it knocks back out of manual in the air .

has any one else experiance this or could give me some advice of where im going wrong ?

BTW ive not got throttle failsafe enabled as i thought that could have been it im also using firmware V2.68

and ive calibrated my radio countless times

    1. Are you sure failsafe is not engaging? When my failsafe triggers, I have to switch to another mode and then back to the original mode.

    2. Try setting up from a clean model on your tx.

    3. Also start it up without the tx on and see if the mode switches to auto to try to eliminate the radio.

    4. Borrow and try another tx altogether.

    5. Post your param file here I'll see if I can see a problem.

  • Just checked some thing else out  no matter what mode i start in on my TX the APM starts in a AUTO mode :/
