New member & new to R/C

Hi All

I am a new member here, I recently saw an Octocopter in action 12k worth,I am hooked never been into R/C so I am going to have alot of ?????????? when I work out what to ask so be patient I have no knowledge on electronics either so as you can see I am really green.

What would be the cheapest option to get into the hobby with camera mounted possible to have a video feed to controler or monitor, I would need it to fly outdoors with decent range & 50m + alltitude I see it as being a great tool for my other hobby "Gold Prospecting".

Thanks

Lee

  • I would recommend you start off cheap, as with me i had never flown a chopper, as these are similar to choppers in regard to the orientation.

go to hobbyking.com, purchase the cheapest frame which i think i 50$ which they have stock of, i got the turnigy talon v2, some 1200kv motors and 20amp esc. Theres lots of videos on youtube of putting it together. Get a KK2.0 board and get familiar with the controls and the orientation etc. You will need a transmitter and receiver also, get the turnigy 9x which is also about 50 odd $, this will be enough to get you started in my opinion

    Good luck!
