Noob AP question image patching

I haven't done any AP stuff yet, can someone tell me what software to use?? I have a keychain camera that shoots 720p video. I intended to capture still shots from the video, then patch the stills together into one large image. Can someone link me to any free software for patching these images together??

Some of the keychain cameras are 640 lines but encoded as 720.

PTGui is the best. There is a free trial version.
