Not all ESCs turn on!

Hi everybody,

I have just started using the APM on my own platform. I have two sets of The motors and ESCs. One from Hacker and the other from Castle creation.

The ESC from castle are fine. but when I connect the APM to the platform with Hacker ESCs on it, only the one connected to the output 4 turns on. The others don't turn on, just like there is no signal on the pins of the other output.

Any suggestions regarding this issue?

thanks!

Just a random thought but presumably you've initialised the ESCs?

My guess is that the hacker escs are not coming on because their safety has been engaged right at the beginning.  Normally the ESCs have a safety feature in which stops them from coming on unless they receive a pwm signal that is below some threshold.  A good idea because it stops your engines from starting up if you've accidentally left your throttle in a high position (on a regular RC car, boat, plane, heli).

I'll also bet that if you set the trim on your throttle lower you can get it to output a pwm value low enough to disengage the ESC's safety.  This isn't a good long term solution though...try initialising the ESC and I'd guess that will adjust this threshold.
