One esc let out some smoke during calibration

Hi

I had a weird problem, one of my esc's let out some smoke during the calibration, and im gueassing thats not normal. but the strange part is i tested the smoker again isolated, and it works hmm. is it usable?

The ESC is of the type http://store.diydrones.com/ArduCopter_ESC_20_Amp_p/ac-0004-08.htm

So all in all, what can i do? can i change it out with any ESC or must all 4 be changed, can i ignore the issue? and last but not least how could it have happened (learning purposes)

    Not sure if relevant but in my setup its esc on motor 4 which smoked. And on the side note esc on motor 1 gets incredibly hot when im testing.
