I really like building my own drones and since getting my part 107 certification would like to do some commercial work but find that the camera features of RTF drones far exceed those available to us DIYers. Even simply geo referencing the photos in real time would be a great feature to have. I am not a big fan of the GoPro due to its wide FOV but would like a camera for about the same price that is more hackable in order to interface to Ardupilot. I am aware of CHKD but I guess what I am really dreaming of is a purpose built open source camera thats been designed for a DIY drone.
