PID tuning help

Hi, I just tried my 1st flight and this was the result:

 

 

That is with default PID values. Heres a screenshot from configuratior:

Does anyone have advice as what values to try next? I am confused with the D value as everything I have read says it should be negative, but the default value of 1.200 looks like its positive. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

P.S. No damage to the quad from the crash, just broke the balsa wood that I had sticking out to protect the rotors.

  • Looks like you're getting some severe oscillation. I'd start by reducing the proportional component for you pitch and roll. Reduce it to maybe 2 and then work your way back up until it's almost oscillating.
