One of my friends has a quadcopter that developed a strange behavior. All of a sudden, the only thing it does it rises about 50cm to 1m and spins clockwise, without any response to inputs. 

Today we did a full erase and install of 3.2.1, redone all the settings/calibrations and the copter did the same thing. Take off in althold, it settles at knee level and it just spins. It does this with the external compass connected or disconnected (with proper calibrations).

I have attached two logs, first one with external compass connected, with some altitude control, the second one with only the internal compass, no altitude control. Both flights where tethered, on the second we had to force it down.
