Plugging ESC directly into APM

Can the output for each ESC be plugged directly into the APM instead of going through the power distribution board? I think this would work just fine (as the multiple BEC would be in parallel) but maybe I'm missing something important as to why this shouldn't be done? Thanks!

    Thank you! I'm off to simplify the configuration of my hexacopter. An attachment shows a power distribution board I made (soon to be removed), basically taking up space on the frame and adding weight to everything.

    Yep, works fine for me on my quad.  4 2amp linear BEC's  Just make sure they put out 5V

    It's fine. I spoke to a very good electrical engineer about it and he says it won't have negative effects.
