Power connection of the ardupilot mega board

Currently I am doing on the quadcopter project.

Our goal is to have a quadrotor that is less than 1kg.

What is the power connection for the ardupilot mega chip? Do I need to use additional battery to power on the chip(but it will increase the weight). I am using the 11.1V battery to power on my quadcopter.

 

Can I just connect the battery to the ESC? (ESC is connected to the output of Mega Chip and the receiver is connected to the input of the Mega Chip. ) Will the Mega Chip able to draw the power if I connect my things like this?

    Is it the same as arducopter?
    Therefore, I just need to connect the battery to my 4 ESC and the APM will be powered?

    APM is powered by the ESC. Please see the manual.
