Power supplying consideration

Hi.These days, I intensively build&setting my quadrotor using ArdupiratesNG.I finished the tunning of attitude PID, very stable. And I connected the u-blox gps. Data communication confirmed.I have a question about power supplying.I've read in wiki-manual, it is recommended that only one +5v power from ESC and connect only a signal from other 3 ESCs. But, if I connect other 3 ESC's power, will something happen?I already tried, but there seems no problem until now. What's the right configuration of power supply?

  • Are you using the arducopter kit power distribution board? If so you shouldn't have to worry about this, as that configuration takes care of it anyway
  • Each ESC's BEC (battery eliminator circuit, RC slang for a voltage regulator) is not exactly identical. One might be running at +5.1 V, the other at +4.9 V, so they end up with 0.2 V potential between them. That means there will be some balancing current flowing between them, wasting power and generating excess heat, burning one or more ESCs in the more extreme of cases.
  • these 4 BECs from your ESCs will fight against each other, you will get an unstable voltage supply, they will heat up and need much more power than necessary

right configuration is: connect one 5V line
