Power to TX for FPV

Hello Everyone,

I have recently purchased a 5.8g tx/rc for my fpv system and have a few questions.

1) The Tx claims it needs an input of 7 to 12v so I assume it is ok to hook it directly into the quad's 3s 11.1v 5000 ma battery?

2) Do I need a BEC inbetween the battery and TX?

I heard you can use your flight battery to power your FPV. Don't use a 4S the voltage would be to high. You should not need a BEC since they normal reduce the voltage to 5 or 6 volts. Double check your specs and your voltage from your battery just to be safe.
