Problems getting my quad going

Hello everyone, I need help.  I've been building a quad using the Arducopter manual and forums as a reference. I am no expert, but I do have some experience using ArduPilot Mega/IMU on several planes.  I have also built and flown a Tricopter, so the QUAD seemed to be my next step. I'm hoping I have overlooked something simple.

Everything is hooked up as per the manual.

APM

OUT0-3 wires going to one of my ESCs

OUT1-1 signal wire to esc

OUT2-1 signal wire to esc

OUT3-1 signal wire to esc

IN0- 1 signal wire to AILE of rec

IN1- 1 signal wire to ELEV of rec

IN2- 1 signal wire to THRO of rec

IN3- 1 signal wire to RUDD of rec

IN4- 1 signal wire to AUX1 of rec

IN5- 1 signal wire to GEAR of rec

IN7- 2 power wires to BATT of rec

I have also tried the 2 power wires going with the THRO signal to THRO of rec

All of my ESCs were calibrated individually before hooking them up.

I can connect and upload the code just fine as well as connect and use the CLI.

Here are my problems:

1. I can not connect to the Configurator. (timeout has been changed)

2. When I connect to USB for CLI, The Rear motor spins up (+ config) then stops.

3. When I use the CLI to do the motor test, the LEFT and FRONT motor alternate back and forward without any TX input. If I do move my TX stick, nothing changes.

4. If I disconnect the USB and flip the switch for flight mode, all four motors spin up until I remove power and my receiver does not seem to power up.

I appreciate any assistance in helping me get these problems corrected.

Thanks

  • can you post pictures of your setup?

    CLI works?

when you try to connect to configurator, does the APM reboot? (flashing ABC lights again and getting a solid green light)
