px4flow mounting location

Hi-

Wondering if someone might be able to help me.  I'm finishing up a 680 hex build.  Trying to figure out the best place to mount the px4flow sensor.  I was thinking of putting it all the way at the end of one of the copter's arms, near the motor mount.  Seemed like a good place to put it at first, then I started thinking that being about 18 inches left of center might throw it off.  Should I scrap my plan to mount it on an arm and find some place to mount it closer to the center, or will it be ok all the way out at the end of the arm?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • I would put it under the copter and not at the end of the arms since when the copter's moving around, the altitude values are going to be varying based on the roll or pitch angle the copter is making. I have PX4Flow too and I am trying to figure out how to mount it. I have a 3dr x4.

I am considering putting it at the very back of the copter and mounted with doublesided tape since I don't know how else to mount the thing. Have you installed it on your system? I am still trying to figure out how to get Arducopter to talk to it. I know 3.3 is coming and will support it but for now, have to find alternative.

    • Hi Kautilya-

Thanks for your comment.  You bring up a good point about the altitude values.  I still haven't test flown mine, but I'll let you know if that causes any issues for my readings.  I'm having trouble getting it to talk to the PixHawk too.  Hoping 3.3 drops soon!
