Quadcopter + setup

Hi All

Under 

http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/initial-setup/assembly-instructions/connect-escs-and-motors-pixhawk/

it says that motors "A" and "C" spin clockwise. I want to build a quad where "A" and "C" spin opposite directions and use motors "D" & "B" for roll control. That is I want motors A & C for thrust and D & B for roll. Can this be done?
