HyperGuy commented on Chris Anderson's blog post More powerful Pixhawk 3 coming soon
"So glad to see this. PixHawk 2 is hard to get a hold of and not easy to setup compared to Pixhawk 1. Never liked the idea of the "cube" anyway."

HyperGuy commented on Andrew Murphy's blog post Local Motors Airbus Cargo Drone-1st Test Flight
"OK looks like the truth about this design is finally coming to the surface. What a relief. So when it finally gets scrapped and the next feasible design gets built instead, will the successful design finally get the prize money it deserves?"

HyperGuy commented on Julian's blog post 3DR's Rise and Fall
"I don't know why we even have a DIY Forum when all it is used for is to advertise commercial out of the box solutions? Hopefully Jordi gets it right with mRobotics."

HyperGuy commented on Julian's blog post 3DR's Rise and Fall
"What a shame. Although DIY was not as profitable, it still brought in the $$. Not sure how they will compete in software, not really a core competency I suppose. No point in expanding too quickly if the market is not ready for it. I think drones…"

HyperGuy commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Winners of Airbus cargo drone competition announced
"Its is really difficult to belive that the winning entries would actually meet the contest requirements. They basically quote a wing span of 4m and with a MTOW of 25kg and batteries more than half this, its hard to see how they could meet structural…"

HyperGuy commented on Paul's blog post Drone-maker 3D Robotics cuts jobs, refocuses on corporate market.
"Truth is Chris was always interested in starting a business rather than DIY. Figured this out early by watching his videos online. Problem is you can't based a business on free IP. Market forces and competition etc. Did DJI ever have an open…"

HyperGuy commented on Andrew Tridgell's blog post Building, flying and not crashing a large OctaQuadPlane
"I've been reading the low-down of the QuadPlane code and I must say it is impressive. Thanks to the developers for doing such a great job! Now to design an airframe to put it in :)"

HyperGuy commented on Andrew Tridgell's blog post Building, flying and not crashing a large OctaQuadPlane
"Interesting point Stephen regarding stall. Could a stall detection be included such that during transition the quad rotors engage and manage this risk? Or is it there already...dunno?"

"Thanks for posting this. A frozen chicken would do more damage than a live one. Statistical analysis is only as good as assumptions made. Does it take into account intent to cause harm?"
