question about commercial use.

OK so the Faa says a model aircraft cant be used for for arial photograph but yet there are tons of services out there to do so. So is there a way to Commercial lic yourself to be able to do so?.. you cant tell me the guys with canon 5d mark3 slung under a 8 rotor is 100% for hobby use, heck cinastar is advertised as a commercial use multi rotor.  So bottom line i would like to be able to use my ap shots and sell them if i ever get good enof there has to be a legal way to do it ?

  • Which country?

In NZ any pilotless aircraft used commercially becomes a UAS, certification starts with approval by the director of our CAA (like the USA FAA), one of the general requirements is to have sat the exams for. PPL. Only 3 nz operators have this licence, one of whom is the navy. And all of whom are fixed wing. So as to how there are several dozen companies offering commercial services? Who knows.

I think there are relaxed rules where there are always eyes on the A/C and it stays under so many feet and so far away from persons or property. But at a guess many of those with 'permits' from the CAA actually don't have them and just stay within the limited alt and range, more likely they have an email from the CAA telling them what they can and cant do.
