Qurstion / Opionion on UAV types

To all:

I am here to ask a couple of questions to help me better decide which UAV type is best... I am currently in the market to get a project started for UAV's and I have been searching around for information and specs and all the sorts... I find myself still trying to decide which type to go with, wither it be a plane or a heli version... Each have pro's and con's but I have no experiance with either so I am here to ask which would be best and easiest to get started and working pretty much from the start... Which works best with the communication software? which is easiest to fix or cheaper to fix or even build for that matter? Which will fly better when compared to overall performance? What can be done with a plane versus the heli and vise versa... Because there is not efficient software or the ability to detect objects and then correct itself around them objects, which would be best for people who live in areas where there are ton of trees around and not so many open fields...

 

Any information that can be shared, I would be greatful...

    Helicopters are better for closed spaces. The 450 size heli is great for beginners and it is cheap if you every break it. Planes are better in open areas. I prefer gliders as my choice of UAV frame because they are easy to fly and if they fly smoother. If they crash its usually not to bad. Both gliders and the small 450 size helis are great for beginners but you should always start out with the simulation software saves allot of the time spent dealing with crashes. I would start with the 450 heli if you live in confined spaces. You could always go with a quadcopter too. Just my advice, good luck.
