Replacement motors

I've been using the KDA 20-22L since the beginning of my quad project that started in september 2010.

I would like to hear some opinions concerning an alternative to the KDA.

I'm using a MK50 frame and would like a little more power and quality.

Any suggestions?

Thx

Vince

  • My Roxxy 2824-34 are installed and running very smooth.

The quality is better than the KDA's.

  • I bought a few MT2814 motors to test.

They weigh in at around 100grams  and with a 13*4 prop will stay cool at 1900 grams thrust.  Very little vibration, and well built for the price.

  • I think I found a candidate:

The Roxxy 2824_34. These have a good price and are ready available here in Belgium.

I checked some reviews about them and they are also used on the Mikrokopter. They are a equivelant of the KDA's but better quality.

I'll be using 10x4.7 APC props and Turnigy plush 25A.

If there are any objections these 3 items get married, speak now or forever hold your peace... ;-).

  • Thx for the info.

It seems that a lot of the "heavier" motors need bigger props.

    What about batt life?

  • What about the Roxxy 2827-34 or 35?

And the Turnigy 2217-35 ( which is also low budget)

Is there a list of tested motors proven to work with arducopter software?

  • These are the ones which I use - they have survived many hard knocks ....
