Ricoh GR for aerial photography

I want to adapt a Ricoh GR for aerial photography, and was wondering if anyone had already used this camera? Ideally I'd like to be able to access Live View remotely, otherwise I'll probably use a small CCTV camera for showing the cameras field of view. Any advice appreciated.

  • Thanks, guys, I will get one of those.

    • Hi. Did you get one of these? can you trigger the ricoh gr with it?

I have an IRIS+ and would like to use this cam with it. Liveview and trigger would be important... please let me know

      • Hi,

As they have now banned drones in Qatar, I still haven't got one :(

  • You can use a cable like this

    http://www.gentles.ltd.uk/gentwire/videousb.htm

for video (live view) out over usb and fire your shutter too

  • I don't have this camera but it has a good "rating score" at  DpReview.com , though it seems quite expensive for a non-zoom camera.

The field of view is a bit wide, but with 16 Mega pixels and RAW recording, cropping and adjusting the photos afterwards should yield good results.

The live view output appears to be HDMI so you'll have to use a converter like this one HERE  (Amazon has them too)  in order to transmit the video image.
